Hi, it's Ruby
Hi, there! Welcome to my site. My name is Ruby Aoshuang Shi. I obtained my PhD in physics from Stanford in the fall of 2023 and am currently a postdoc scholar at Georgia Institute of Technology. I am interested in using scanning and non-scanning microscopy to study novel magnetic systems. I used scanning SQUID microscopy in graduate school to study thin film superconductors and mono-/few-layer Van der Waals systems. Currently, I use hexagonal Boron nitride (hBN) defects to image confined ferromagnetic structures to challenge the magnetic sensing resolution and sensitivity of hBN. I am also interested in machine learning and quantum computing and have taken corresponding classes in graduate school. In my spare time, I like to dance and spend time with my dog, Mona.
